Excerpt:

Once more dressed in jeans and her well-worn cowboy boots, with a jacket thrown on to ward off the chill evening air, Phoenix walked. Against a backdrop of blue-green mountain peaks and the lightly wooded hillsides closer to the farm, the hens were settling in their coop, with only an occasional soft clucking.

Inside the boldly painted red barn, horses whickered in their stalls. She breathed deeply of the scents of horse and hay as she ambled through the dusty structure, then opened the side door and walked into the llama's pasture. The male immediately approached her and nuzzled her cheek as she slung her arm around him.

"I love you too, Romeo." She closed her eyes and relaxed against the animal's woolly neck.

However, her relaxation ended abruptly when the animal stiffened and emitted a shrill cry. Following the animal's gaze, Phoenix saw CJ standing on the other side of the corral with his arms folded on the top board.

"Will your llama spit in my face?"

"It's alright, Romeo." Phoenix patted the llama, then walked slowly toward the man who had occupied too much of her thoughts lately. "What brings you out this way?"

"You left the Governor's presentation right after you talked to Mitch. I wanted to be sure you were okay."

All the memories she had been trying to walk off slammed into Phoenix once more. "What is okay? I'm not sure I've ever been okay or ever will be. How can I find normal or happy when I don't think I've experienced those things?"

"You come up your own version of what makes you happy." "A woman is dead because of me. How can I ever be happy knowing that?"

"Mitch said Swaggerty was waiting for Charlene. If it hadn't been that night, he would have killed her another way. Phoenix let that statement sink in. One part of her brain knew that was true. So why did she cling to the blame for Charlene's death? Maybe she was afraid to move forward.

About Genie:

I'm an optimist whose rose-colored glasses have bent frames and cracked lenses. When life kicks me in the teeth, I find miracles and lessons I refused to learn an easier way. In fact, I live with a small herd of miracles in the furry forms of dogs, who are constantly trying to teach me to forgive, to play more, and to love without limits. I write about people who find courage and integrity in the darkest times of their lives, who rescue stray dogs and kittens, who find a person they would willingly give their lives for, and who make their little corners of the world a better place. People have remarked my stories "aren't what they expected." With rose-colored glasses firmly in place, I take that as a compliment. I invite you to share a piece of my world in the pages of a book, and hope you find some surprises, some tears, some laughter, and always a happy ending.

NOTE: All nine books in the Halo Legacy Series will be $0.99 the day of the tour!

Pretty, pretty cocktail.

The description of the drink. Mmmmmm..
The Charming Man and I took a sneak getaway to Seattle a few weeks ago. By happenstance, we stopped by a small gem of a bar called Suite 410 in downtown.

As a romance writer, I had to try The Fabio! If you can't read the description on the picture, this is what it says:
An amazing & beautiful cocktail made with gin, egg white & magic. I can't believe it's gin!
It was a very pretty drink, and delicious, too. It was a lovely shade of pink, with a light froth on the top. A perfect cooling drink to sip on a warm summer day.

If you ever find yourself in Seattle, I really recommend this place!

A highly intimate question.

Ok, men. I'm writing a fellatio scene and I want to do it from a man's point of view. What it is about fellatio that you enjoy? The warmth? The tightness, the visual? And give me your emotions, too. What goes on in your brain and heart during that time? Do you touch her? Praise her? Tell me what would make this scene come alive for a male reader.

I really want to avoid language that involves words like "member" or "manhood", because those make me laugh, and I'm assuming it would make you laugh. Or does the thought of someone thinking of your equipment (another giggler, but I'm trying to be delicate here, if not in the manuscript) as your essence excite you?

And remember, this is for posterity, so be honest.

Quick, name that quote!

At the beginning of the twenty-first century of our era, a millennia long war between two immortal races was coming to an end. The Vampire Elite, the strongest among vampires, forced the race of immortal beings, the Amiti to become their blood suppliers, called bloodstock, locking them in their underground cells and treating them like livestock.

The surviving free Amiti make a final attempt to strike back. The Queen of Amiti is proclaimed a traitor and is executed. Her death signifies the rise of a new Queen, her young daughter Arianna who becomes the last hope of her dying race. Arianna totally embraces her mission and is ready to fight for her people to the last drop of her blood but encounters an unexpected challenge—the vampire King Tor.

They both are captured into a trap of love where they had to make an ultimate choice; to kill the loved one or to let their races die.

Vampire Elite is the epic story of a bitter conflict between two peoples, and the effect of that conflict on everyone living in its grip. The characters are driven to love and betrayal, vengeance and sacrifice in a world without easy black-and-white answers.

Based on an ancient Egyptian legend, packed with action and intrigue, Vampire Elite will pull you into the entrancing world of immortals and open new portals into their hidden universe.

Exerpt:
As the auctioneer spoke, two Sekhmi in eveningwear—a male carrying an elegant dagger and a female girl.
“She’s barely eighteen, ladies and gentlemen. That’s a good three years younger than the youngest bloodstock you’ll usually come across. Look at her; she’s stunning, simply stunning, and as you can see, we’ve kept her well conditioned, in excellent health.”

The auctioneer paused as the male Hunter grasped the Amiti’s hand and held it above the tray. The girl showed no resistance, her only display of anxiety the butterfly fluttering of her thick eyelashes. He raised his other hand, and the dagger flashed in the light as with a swift motion he slit the Amiti’s palm.

The dark, intoxicating scent of fresh blood filled the room as it poured into the vials. Simone’s gums began to itch and burn, and she covered her mouth with her hand so no one would see her fangs punching down. It was considered terribly rude to expose one’s fangs in public, even among other vampires.

But she needn’t have worried; everyone’s attention was riveted to the stage and the blood flowing from the girl’s wound. The room vibrated with bloodlust and sexual arousal.

Sekhmi approached Simone’s table, offering the Royal Pride the first of the blood samples. Knowing that all eyes were on her, Simone forced herself not to hesitate and took a small sip—and was immediately flooded with euphoria.

“For this magnificent specimen, we open the bidding at ten million U.S. dollars,” announced the auctioneer.
